REINVENT YOUR SKINCARE FOR AUTUMN

Autumn is now our new season and time to rethink your skin routine.

A change in temperature, pigmentation from your Summer beachy days and inflammation from one too many Summer mojitos. One or all of these factors can impact your skins’ barrier function in the form of dryness, sensitivity and dullness.

To improve your skin barrier function keep your routine simple.

CLEANSE

  • Cleanse so that your serums and moisturisers are more effective. Without cleansing the daily dust, pollen and pollution as well as moisturizer and sunscreen is still on the skin as a barrier.
  • Cleansing increases blood flow which aids in releasing toxins, so take your time with this.
  • A drier skin might benefit from a switch from foaming to cream cleanser to reduce flakiness and ease inflammation.
  • Always wash in lukewarm water not hot.

SKIN KARMA CLEANSER 200ML

SKIN KARMA CLEANSER – $ 54.00

SERUMS

Serums are applied next. In Autumn central heating, air conditioned heating and open fires can lead to dehydration. A hyaluronic acid serum is a key player here for that dehydrated Autumn skin. Applied morning and night after cleansing. Hyaluronic acid serums hold 1000times their weight in moisture hence a hero ingredient in any serum.

INTRACEUTICALS OPULENCE DAILY SERUM – $149.00

SKIN RENEW SERUM – $98

MOISTURISE

Moisturiser will help rebuild your skin barrier when applied over your serum to lock in hydration and prevent moisture loss. Something maybe a bit richer than what you would use in the Summer.

INTRACEUTICALS REJUVENATE MOISTURE BINDING GREAM – $75

INTRACEUTICALS HYDRATION GEL – $89

ACTIVE NIGHT REPAIR – $89.00

RETINOL

Retinol start using this! Retinol is Vitamin A. Retinol will make the skin a little more sensitive to the sun so best used in cooler months and at night and always applying SPF daily.

The lack of sunshine may not make you happy in Autumn but your skin will be! Retinol increases the skins cell turnover (think refining wrinkles), regulates oil flow and improves pigmentation. Start slow to build up tolerance and work your way up. This is not suitable for pregnant women.

Vitamin A Booster

INTACUETICALS VITAMIN A BOOSTER – $49.00

ULTRADERM RAPID RETINOL CONCENTRATE – $115.00

ULTRADERM ABSOLUTE VITAMIN A&E – $85.00

SPF

Wear SPF all year round. This is not negotiable! UV rays never go away and we are exposed every day to them. A zinc SPF is our preference so when you find a good one, stick to it.

UltraDerm Sun & C Pack

ULTRADERM SUN & C – Includes Daily Protector + All In One Balm – $79.20 was $99

If you are struggling with a dehydrated skin, impaired barrier or simply don’t know what products you should be using make a time to discuss this. It might just mean tweaking what you are currently using or buying a super serum to get you through the Autumn months.
